BUILD A NETWORK!!!

To me this is one of the most dominant misconceptions in our industry today…BUT it is easy to see how people could have this misunderstanding…because (and here’s the problem)… it is a misconception that is firmly based on historical reality.

Let me see if I can explain what I mean.

The historical pattern of MOST network marketing companies has been one in which a Company starts slowly…it grows VERY quickly…and it goes out of business overnight.  So in reality…the only ones that “made big money” got into those companies during their early years (before their own growth destroyed them).

So if someone says you can’t make money because, “Nu Skin has already been through their growth” …you might want to point out that their understanding of the industry is based on historical failures…not successful companies like Nu Skin Enterprises.

REALITY CHECK:  66% of Nu Skin’s top qualifying sales executives last year became a Nu Skin distributor within the past 5 years.

Sunday afternoons are always times of reflection for me.  Today I’m totally lost in thought…thinking of all the many different and wonderful people that I’ve met and grown to love over the years since I first got involved in Nu Skin.

As I focus my thoughts on the opportunity today…I honestly am approaching it with wonder and excitement–knowing that incredible friendships and relationships are going to be discovered and forged as we move forward together with the game-changing power of an exclusive product like Vitality.

I remembered a song the other day that inspired me to edit together a little slideshow.  I hope you enjoy the message of the song and want to share it with all those you’ve come to know and love through this business…

Three sisters, ages 92, 94 and 96, live in a house together.  One night the 96-year-old draws a bath.  She puts her foot in and pauses.  She yells to the other sisters, ‘Was I getting in or out of the bath?’

The 94-year-old yells back, ‘I don’t know. I’ll come up and see.’ She starts up the stairs and pauses ‘Was I going up the stairs or down?

The 92-year-old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters, she shakes her head and says, ‘I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood.’ She then yells, ‘I’ll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who’s at the door.’

Facts brought out in today’s Associated Press article:

1. One in 10 American households with a mortgage is at risk of losing its home, and the foreclosure crisis could worsen if jobs remain scarce.
2. About 9.9 percent of homeowners had missed at least one mortgage payment as of June 30, the Mortgage Bankers Association said Thursday.
3. unemployment claims remain much higher than they would be in a healthy economy.
4. Employers are reluctant to hire as economic growth appears to be slowing.
5. The jobless rate has remained near double digits all year.
6. More than 2.3 million homes have been repossessed by lenders since the recession began in December 2007, according to foreclosure listing service RealtyTrac Inc. Economists expect the number of foreclosures to grow well into next year.
